Speakers
Andrew Benson is the Canada Energy Regulator’s Compliance Program Manager for emergency management, and an Emergency Response Coordinator. He focuses on using data to measure risk and address complex compliance and process issues. Andrew also manages the CER’s Emergency Operations Centre and emergency response. Andrew has extensive regulatory experience and has a background in compliance and environmental remediation. Andrew holds a B.Sc. in Earth Sciences and a M.Sc. in Organic Geochemistry.
Elliot McLauchlan is an Analyst on the Canada Energy Regulator’s Regulatory Policy Team. He is the Assistant Project Manager for the review of the Onshore Pipeline Regulations, the CER’s principal regulation for the oversight of pipelines that cross interprovincial or international borders. Elliot has extensive experience in regulatory development and parliamentary affairs. Elliot holds a B.Sc. in Earth Sciences and Master’s Degree in Resource and Environmental Management.
