Modified:
ANSI/ASSE A10.32 2012 Edition, “Personal Fall Protection Used in Construction and Demolition Operations,” has been released and is now available from Document Center Inc. in both paper and pdf formats. This standard establishes performance criteria for personal fall protection equipment and systems in construction and demolition and provides guidelines and recommendations for their use and inspection.
It includes, but is not limited to, fall arrest, restraint, positioning, climbing, descending, rescue, escape and training activities. This standard does not include lineman’s body belts, pole straps, window washer’s belts, chest/waist harnesses and sports equipment.
The original version of the ANSI A10.32 standard was approved on May 3, 2004. This new ANSI/ASSE A10.32:2012 not only supersedes the original release but is viewed as a replacement for the A10.14 standard as well. FYI: Past versions of the ANSI/ASSE A10.14 were released in 1975 and 1991. The new 2012 Edition will go into effect January 14th.
Who should use this standard? It applies to users of personal fall protection equipment; to those personnel responsible for the selection, procurement, inspection, use, care and maintenance of the equipment; and to those responsible for training and supervision of the users.
