3.1.8 Update Frequency for Documents and Clauses

Depending on the Jurisdiction and Document Type, update frequency can vary for documents and clauses in your Compliance Obligations.

Document Level

Here is a breakdown of the maximum expected delays from government publication to Nimonik publication for

  • Changes to documents in your compliance obligations; and
  • New documents of interest.

Legislation

  • Canada Federal and Provincial & U.S. Federal – 2 weeks
  • U.S. States – 2 weeks to 1 month depending on the State
  • Canada & U.S. Municipalities – 3 to 6 months
  • China – Weekly
  • Other jurisdictions – 1 month

Non-Legislation

  • China – 1 to 2 months
  • Other jurisdictions – 1 month

News

  • Canada – 2 weeks

Note: Updates are often published significantly ahead of these maximum delays. These maximum delays are designed to allow for uncontrollable circumstances such as delayed release of information by governments.

Clause Level

Clause level updates are issued 3-4 weeks after the consolidated document is made available by the government. If no consolidated document is available, amending documents may or may not be offered at clause level depending on the materiality of the change.
